About me

Tanya Thomas, LPC, PMH-C

Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a mom myself – I have four. We stay busy between school, sports, and music! I love nurturing the wonderful human beings that my children are and, at times, am challenged by their being someone/something other than myself! Personally, I love being creative. I enjoy quilting, Taekwondo, drawing and spending time with my family. I find motherhood to be both the peaceful journey down a river and an epic adventure filled with unforeseen events.

I enjoy being a therapist and helping moms (and dads!) navigate the changes that parenthood creates.

Here are my various credentials and treatments I use:

MA Regent University, Clinical Mental Health Counseling

PMH-C Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International

EMDR Institute for Creative Mindfulness, for use with trauma experiences

Filial Therapy Filial Therapy trained through Family Enhancement and Play Therapy Center, Inc. & the Playful Pooch Program. This therapy modality is used for strengthening the relationship between parent and child through the use of non-directive play
